Grainger Meeting/Group Study Room Information

Guidelines for Submitting a Request


Request a Group Study Room

Group study rooms are small rooms found on the west end of the fourth floor. The group study rooms available for request are rooms 401, 402, 403 and 404.These rooms have an occupancy capacity of 8 people and can be requested for TA Office Hours and Engineering Class Group Work ONLY. All other group studies are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. ALL Rooms will be cleared several times PER DAY during Finals for cleaning.
Terms of Use
  • While covered drinks and bottled water are permitted in these rooms, absolutely NO FOOD is allowed.
  • No moving of furniture is allowed within, or into, these rooms.
  • Formal course instruction is not permitted in these rooms.
  • In order to accommodate more requests, Group Study rooms will be reserved for a maximum of 4 HOURS only.
  • No more than 8 and no fewer than 2 people may occupy a room at anytime.
  • If a key is issued for access to these rooms, it must be returned by the due date, or late fees will be charged. Keys must be returned to the Circulation Desk. Do NOT pass keys on to other groups.
  • If the room is not used within 30 minutes of the time requested, the reservation will be voided for that day.
  • Groups with standing reservations must submit a list of group members. Group members must present an ID in order to have access to the room reserved.

Request a Meeting Room

Meeting Rooms range from small to large and can be found on the second and third floors. These rooms are primarily used for formal meetings, workshops and seminars and can only be requested by groups affiliated with the College of Engineering, CITES and the University Library.
Terms of Use
  • Absolutely NO FOOD is allowed in any Grainger meeting space unless arranged in advance with Grainger staff.
  • Food and drinks (including bottled water) are never allowed in the Grainger Commons.
  • No moving of furniture is allowed within, or into, these rooms.
  • Unplugging or moving of computer equipment is NOT allowed.
  • Users are required to pay for any extra services.
  • Large meetings cannot be accommodated during the last 4 weeks of the spring and fall semesters.
  • These rooms are not used for TA office hours.
